Fresh Flowers and a Window Screen

By Anita 16 Comments

flowers and daybed on back porch

Cedar Hill Farmhouse is back porch livin,

screen door slammin,

apple pie eatin,

marshmallow roastin

take your time,

watch the sunset,

have a cupcake kinda place,

window-screen-art

flowers on wall

Life here is carefree.  We enjoy the sunset every night from the table on the back porch.

We enjoy spending time with friends and family, we linger at the table.

Sure there are chores, but somehow here they don’t seem dreary or mundane.

Today after I swept the porch I walked in the pasture and cut fresh wildflowers. After I arranged the flowers into small bundles, I wrapped them in twine, then hung them on my old window screen to dry.

Life is good… on the back porch. Where is  your happy place?

I have always wanted to porch and now after this post I really want one. We have a gravel patio in the back yard that I have been working to make cute and comfy but it’s a work in progress.

I can’t imagine what a sense of peace you have when you sit out on that beautiful back porch…how wonderful to be able to go out into a pasture and pick wildflowers…life is certainly good!…My happy place is anywhere in my house that I can look out to the peaceful setting of my back yard.

What beautiful pictures! My favorite place in this current home is my front porch, where we can see for miles, with a lake up close and mountains in the distance.

Anita, just thinking about your porch at the ranch looking across that lovely view makes me happy. The blue skies and sunshine here in central Texas today are also making me feel happy. Enjoy your weekend!

Such a pretty, calm porch. Your photography is wonderful. We have a large front porch, which is fun for watching the neighborhood. I wish we had a back porch, too, so we could watch our grandchildren, running, playing ball, etc. Thanks for sharing.

We have a screened in back porch but not a place we want to sit —-not for four or five months anyway. Today it’s about 20 above zero. A welcome change from the 20+ below we’ve had for many days.
Love your porch. We have a metal bed frame like the one you have. Never thought of putting it on the porch. I have an antique wicker sofa (plus chairs) so really not enough room.
    Thanks for the inspiration!

My happy place is my deck. But I’d rather have a porch like yours, for sure!

I love a nice generous porch, too! I dream of a screened-in sleeping porch or room…bucket list. 🙂
